CONSENT, LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!
Once again this year, Les Ardentes is taking action to raise awareness, protect and inform festival-goers about the theme of consent.
The festival mobilizes and takes responsibility to fight as much as possible against any type of harassment or gender-based and sexual violence. The Ardentes have decided to continue the SYNKA project born in 2022 and to go even further in their action plan.
THE SAFETY ZONES
Permanences will be organized within a Safety Zone to accompany all those who wish to discuss issues of consent, harassment or aggression. The Safety Zone will be located in the Chapi Synka within the associative village at the entrance of the festival. Volunteers but also psychologists, sexologists and nurses from the Centre de Prise en charge des Violences Sexuelles de Liège will welcome festival-goers in these spaces of information and listening, in all kindness and safety.
THE SYNKA BRIGADE
Throughout the festival, the Synka Brigade will ensure the safety of festival-goers, respect and kindness of everyone! A team of volunteers will be present in the Safety Zone located in Chapi Synka and will perform maraudes throughout the festival. Easily identifiable with their tshirts, these volunteers are the spokespersons of the Synka project. They will be able to inform you and answer your questions but also intervene at any time, gather the word of witnesses and victims and make the link with the competent people present at the Ardentes.
If you are ever a witness or a victim of an unusual event or behavior, violent words or gestures or non-compliance with consent..., do not hesitate to contact the Synka brigade.
0 800 20 301
This is the free SYNKA emergency number, available 24 hours a day throughout the festival. Witness or victim of inappropriate behaviour, harassment, discrimination or violence? Contact the SYNKA team on this number.
To ensure that this system remains as effective as possible, please do not call this number for any practical information not relating to this subject.
RAISING STAFF AWARENESS
Les Ardentes is committed to making your festival as safe as it is festive! And don't hesitate to contact our staff if you feel the need. All the people working on the festival (organising team, security guards, bar staff, etc.) have been made aware of the problems of sexual harassment and violence, discrimination and lack of respect for consent. They are informed of all the resources available on the site and above all trained to react appropriately, and to redirect you to the appropriate people.
PREVENTION DEVICES
Several prevention devices will be distributed within the Safety Zone. You will be able to collect glass protectors in the form of chouchous and keychains, reusable after the festival. The Council of the Night of the City of Liège also provides bandanas on which each festival-goer can enter the telephone number of his «evening binome». In an emergency, the party buddy will be the first person contacted. Take care of yourself and others. If you see someone who seems confused, don’t hesitate to call the number on their bandana.
SEXO-QUIZ
This year, Les Ardentes have the will to sensitize in a playful way on consent, sexuality and relational life. Participate in the sexo-quiz in the Chapi Synka and try to win cashless (usable only in bars, and non-refundable).
THE SAFEWALK SYNKA
Want to leave the festival but don't feel like walking to the campsite alone? Meet up in front of the Chapi Synka at the festival entrance and make your way safely to the campsite! The SYNKA brigade will set up group departures every hour from 9pm to take you back to the campsite.
THE FESTIVALGOER'S CHARTER
The Ardentes are committed to fighting any type of inappropriate behavior. That’s why we expect our audience to behave respectfully. By going to the Ardentes, each festival-goer is aware of the values defended by the festival and undertakes to respect the common actions and rules highlighted in the charter of good conduct.
