Gen has been involved in rap since he was a teenager, influenced by the likes of Oxmo Puccino, Booba and 1995. He has made a name for himself with his unique music videos, a cross between film and reality, and his poetic, introspective lyrics. His third project, "Gennifer", released in May 2023, was an introspective, personal album that marked a turning point in his career, with more mature lyrics. He returned in February 2024 with another promising EP, "Fidel".

Gen is characterised by his sincerity and authenticity. He raps about his life, his loves, his doubts and his hopes, with a sharp pen and a rare sensitivity. He is considered one of the most promising new faces in French rap.
