Find out how we encourage you to think consciously about where you go, what you consume and what you do at Les Ardentes!
PROMOTES ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY MEANS OF TRANSPORT
Mobility is the main source of pollution when organizing a festival. Transport linked to event logistics and the arrival of festival-goers and artists on site have a significant impact on the environment.
That's why we've set up a wide range of alternative transport options for our festival-goers. Free bus shuttles, a car-sharing platform, bike and scooter parking in the immediate vicinity of the festival... Go to the mobility tab to find the alternative means of transport that's right for you!
Come by bike and leave with a €5 voucher valid in Decathlon stores in Hannut, Alleur, Verviers and Belle-Île.
With the Event Train Ticket, take advantage of a round-trip train ticket between any Belgian station and Ans station at 50% off! Free shuttles will then take you to the festival and campsite.
Use the SNCB(*) code on your festival ticket to buy your Les Ardentes Event Train Ticket at sncb.be/lesardentes. This code begins with the number zero, a capital i and the letters FB. Purchase, info and conditions on sncb.be/lesardentes.
(*) Festival tickets purchased via Fnac and Night&Day do not have an SNCB code.
MANAGING AND SORTING WASTE
No more excuses for not sorting your waste! To keep the site clean and manage waste flows as effectively as possible, we have strengthened the sorting system in 2023 with the help of our partner Intradel. In concrete terms, this means
500 sorting islands on the site and campsite (500 PMC garbage cans and 500 OM garbage cans)
A stand to raise awareness of selective sorting
8 Recycling Cup stands
10 waste fractions in the backstage area: OM, PMC, cardboard, glass, metals, food / compostable, edible oils, wood, paint / aerosols, WEEE
Food waste garbage cans on site for caterers and foodtrucks, and others on the campsite in the BBQ areas.
Dozens of islands of garbage cans placed along the path to prevent littering
Night-time cleaning of the streets around the site and parking lots
Mobilization of a 550-strong green team to take turns collecting cigarette butts, raising awareness of waste sorting and ensuring cleanliness every day of the festival.
To go even further, we have drawn up a charter to involve our partners in respecting the cleanliness of the site and the management of waste generated by their activities. It also makes partners aware of food and water wastage and respect for equipment.
BeWapp provides us with 7,500 free pocket ashtrays and waste collection equipment.
COLLECT AND SORT CIGARETTE BUTTS
In 2023, we amassed a huge number of cigarette butts, so this year we're redoubling our efforts to reduce the problem and step up our efforts to collect and sort them. Throwing a cigarette butt on the ground may seem like nothing, but the damage is frightening! Cigarette butts are difficult to pick up and are thrown on land used for haying cows.
Intradel will be distributing pocket ashtrays at information points.
Butts are hazardous waste: 1 butt contains 4000 pollutants and pollutes up to 500L of water.
PuriFungi has developed a technique for depolluting and transforming cigarette butts using fungi.
Mycelium, the root network of fungi, grows in the butts, digests them and transforms them into a new material. This new material can be used as an ashtray, an awareness-raising sculpture and an insulating panel.
A patented Belgian technique, bio-sourced, circular and local.
Fixed ashtrays will also be placed around the site and campsite.
INVOLVING CAMPERS IN AN ECO-RESPONSIBLE APPROACH
As last year, all prohibited items confiscated on the campsite will be recovered and redistributed to various associations. Read the campsite rules carefully if you want to be able to enter with all your belongings!
Intradel provides garbage bags for your garbage.
If your mattress deflates, Decathlon is there to save your night! Visit their shop and take advantage of their repair service at a democratic price.
Don't abandon your tent or camping gear! If you really want to part with it, take part in Operation Seconde Vie.
When you leave the campsite, you can :
Donate your equipment in good condition to associations. The list of associations to which abandoned equipment will be distributed will be announced shortly.
Drop off your equipment at the Decathlon stand. Decathlon will buy it back from you in exchange for a voucher valid for 2 years in Decathlon stores in Belgium and France. Your tent, table and chairs will be reconditioned and sold for a second life in Decathlon stores to find new owners.
The Decathlon buy-back point will be :
Sunday July 14: in front of the Decathlon shop from 10 a.m.
Monday July 10: at the info point from 9am to noon

🌍
EATING ETHICALLY
In terms of catering, we give preference to restaurateurs from Liège and Wallonia, as well as to local, seasonal and organic products (production excludes the use of chemicals and GMOs, and limits the use of fertilizers, insecticides, etc.). So we're creating recognizable label stickers on the stands so you can guide your choice of catering.
Foodtrucks present at the festival are obliged to offer at least one vegetarian option on their menu.
The use of plastic containers is also forbidden.
