Find out in 7 points how we encourage you to think consciously about your travel, your consumption and your actions at Les Ardentes!
1. PROMOTES ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY MEANS OF TRANSPORT
Mobility is the main source of pollution when organizing a festival. Transport linked to event logistics and the arrival of festival-goers and artists on site have a significant impact on the environment.
That's why we've set up a wide range of alternative transport options for our festival-goers. Free bus shuttles, a car-sharing platform, bike and scooter parking in the immediate vicinity of the festival... Go to the mobility tab to find the alternative means of transport that's right for you!
DECATHLON VOUCHERS

2. WASTE MANAGEMENT AND SORTING AT THE FESTIVAL
At Les Ardentes, there's no excuse not to sort your garbage! To keep the site clean and manage waste flows as efficiently as possible, we've reinforced the sorting system thanks to our partners Intradel, BeWapp and Fost Plus. On the festival site, sorting islands have been set up to make things easier for you and guarantee efficient waste sorting. These sorting islands are clearly signposted and comprise several sections for different types of waste.
OM (Ordures Ménagères): For waste that cannot be recycled (food scraps, paper napkins, or any other non-recyclable waste).
PMC (All Plastic Packaging, Metal Packaging and Beverage Cartons): For plastic packaging, metal cans and beverage cartons. These materials can be recycled and transformed into new products.
On the campsite, you'll find an additional section for cardboard.
Every effort has been made to cause as little inconvenience as possible to the festival's local residents. Every night, we clean up the streets around the festival site, and we've set up dozens of garbage cans along the road between the site and the campsite for you to dispose of your garbage. We're counting on you to respect our neighbors!
A green team takes turns every day to collect cigarette butts, raise awareness of waste sorting and keep the festival clean.
To go even further, we have drawn up a charter to involve our partners in respecting the cleanliness of the site and the management of waste generated by their activities. The charter also makes partners aware of the importance of wasting food and water, and respecting equipment.
3. ZERO CIGARETTE BUTTS
Throwing cigarette butts on the ground may seem like nothing, but the damage is frightening! They're hard to pick up and are thrown on land used for haying cows. 1 cigarette butt contains 4000 pollutants and pollutes up to 500L of water. That's why, at Les Ardentes, we've made this one of our priorities. This year, we're stepping up our efforts to reduce the problem and reinforce the system for collecting and sorting cigarette butts.
Come and pick up a pocket ashtray donated by Intradel and BeWaPP :
At the festival: at info points or recycling/return cup points
On the campsite: at the info points
And take part in the Ardentes recycling contest and win cashless. More info on the competition just below in the "The right gestures to win cashless" tab.
All cigarette butts collected at Les Ardentes will be donated to PuriFungi, which has developed a technique for depolluting and transforming cigarette butts using fungi. Mycelium, the root network of fungi, grows in the butts, digests them and transforms them into a new material. This new material can be used as an ashtray, an awareness-raising sculpture and an insulating panel. This patented Belgian technique is bio-sourced, circular and local.
PuriFungi also has fixed ashtrays on site and at the campsite, and is present at the festival with its stand to raise awareness of cigarette butts, their decontamination technique and the myco-materials produced as a result of recycling.
4. CLEANING AND UPKEEP OF THE CAMPSITE
Just like at the festival, we're counting on you not to throw your garbage just anywhere on the campsite, and to respect the sorting rules. Sorting islands have been set up to make things easier for you and ensure that your waste is sorted efficiently. These are clearly signposted and comprise several sections for different types of waste:
OM (Ordures Ménagères): For waste that cannot be recycled (food scraps, paper napkins, or any other non-recyclable waste).
PMC (All Plastic Packaging, Metal Packaging and Beverage Cartons): For plastic packaging, metal cans and beverage cartons. These materials can be recycled and transformed into new products.
PAPER AND CARDBOARD: Newspapers, magazines, envelopes, various papers, cardboard boxes, cereal packaging, etc.
Intradel also provides garbage bags for your garbage on the campsite. Pick them up at one of the campsite's two info/recycling points.

6. OUR RESPONSIBLE FOOD TRUCKS
We also integrate the food trucks present at Les Ardentes into our eco-responsible approach.
We favor local food trucks (i.e. located within 50km of the festival), as well as local, seasonal and organic products, excluding the use of chemicals and GMOs, and limiting the use of fertilizers and insecticides.
The latter are also obliged to offer at least one vegetarian alternative on their menu, and to favor sustainable practices. The use of plastic containers is also forbidden, thus contributing to our efforts to reduce waste and preserve the environment.
Label stickers on the stands and on the interactive map of our mobile app will help you make informed choices.
7. OUR GREEN MOBILE NETWORK
Proximus implements a greener solution to deploy its temporary mobile network on the Ardentes, combining solar panels and biofuel. An ideal solution for reducing our CO2 emissions by up to 80%! 🌍
