A founding group of French rap, Sniper was formed in 1997 in Val-d’Oise, around Aketo, Tunisiano, Blacko, and DJ Boudj. They quickly made their mark on the music scene with powerful albums such as Du rire aux larmes (2001), Gravé dans la roche (2003), and Trait pour trait (2006), combining social commentary, urban life, and poetic force.
