Sinik, whose real name is Thomas Gérard Idir, is a French rapper born on June 26, 1980, in Paris. He is known for his unique style and powerful lyrics, which often reflect his difficult life and experiences in the tough neighborhoods of the Paris suburbs.
Passionate about rap, he formed the group Amalgame in 1996, then joined the Ul’Team Atom collective. He released his first six-track CD, Malsain, in 2000 under his own pseudonym, Sinik. He also founded his own label, Six-O-Nine, with Karim and Nabil. His first album, La Main sur le cœur, was released in 2005 and went gold. He then went on to release a string of successful albums, such as “Sang Froid” in 2006, “Le Toit du Monde” in 2007, “Ballon d’Or” in 2009, “La Plume et le Poignard” in 2012, “Immortel II” in 2015, “Drone” in 2017, and “Niksi” in 2022.
