Julian Casablancas left his mark on the music of the 2000’s. With his group The Strokes he was quite simply at the centre of a grand return to rock in the hearts of an entire generation. Still in the vanguard, he’s about to exert the same influence on the next decade, in a group as well as solo. On his first attempt “Phrazes for the Young” released last year he permitted himself to try the craziest experiments whilst conserving the melodic mastery in which he excels. The result is an absolutely incredible record, a cross between synthetic progressive pop and retro-futurism. An album which he’ll perform at Les Ardentes, for the first time in Belgium since his last visit with The Strokes more than 8 years ago. A real event not to be missed!
