SIS (Techno/Minimal - DE)
Played on a loop last summer in Ibiza by Ricardo Villalobos and then by Luciano, Loco Dice, Dubfire and DJ Koze in clubs all over the world, "Trompeta" by Turkish artist Burak Sar alias SIS, was unquestionably the minimal hit of the year. The recipe: a continuous techno beat mixed with a wild and organic Balkan Beat Box sample, unusual but deliciously catchy. It had been a long time since so many people agreed about a track, since anything attracted so much hype and was hunted down so much on the net. Since the, the track has been released on Sei Es Drum, Villalobos's militant label, and has made SIS the rising star of the international minimal techno scene, "producer of the year" for Groove Magazine and here, "track of the year" for NightCode. This success has not gone to his head since SIS has managed to maintain his personal touch and has since followed up with impeccable tracks. To be checked out on the Ardentes dance floor.
